Our vision on Architecture

Our long experience in this field confirms our expertise and knowledge in the rehabilitation of homes and buildings in the old town of Palma de Mallorca. We have a long experience in this field. Since the beginning of our activity, Llar Ciutat (formerly Llar Mallorca), has evolved into a company that specializes in promoting projects in the historic center of the Old Town of Palma de Mallorca, while respecting the flavor of the environment.

In recent years, the Architecture as an art -as the queen of the arts- has had plenty of opportunity to show off, but... it hasn't been so, for the reasons we all know just too well. First, because Architecture has been changing from an art into an industrial technology. Second, because the determinants of proliferation of buildings and the circumstances of oppression and rapidity with which these were made, did not leave room and time for the architects to set in motion the artistic oestrus, and take the opportunity to turn our beautiful islands into a reference in architectonic terms.

The facts have come to prove that economic reasons have had much more relevance in Architecture than aesthetic points of view, thus partially destroying the landscape and the environment. In fact, real crimes have been committed against the most elementary good taste. We can say, in general terms, that greed has tampered the master rules of an art. An art that, even modernized and industrialized, even with the most demanding needs of functionalism -with notable exceptions- should never have been given away to absolute oblivion.

Our vision on Architecture is that we should change this and take our chance on transforming our cities into living museums where people can feel as comfortable as possible. That's why we renovate buildings to make beautiful places to live.

A brief history

Llar Ciutat is born from the experience over the last 20 years of Llar Mallorca, a real estate agency specializing in the sale of properties in the old town of Palma de Mallorca. Since late 2006 the breeze of change was blowing, and finally it became into a new economic model.

Since then, it was not easy at all to keep selling third-party homes, given the circumstances we all know. We then decided to go ahead boldly, with our wisdom and knowledge only, into new rehabilitation projects in the historic center of the Ciutat (as we also call the city of Palma). This Mediterranean city that has already deserved the right of being one of the major tourist capitals in Europe. Our passion for the rehabilitation projects, and the wish for recovering properties located in the Old Town of Palma has made us what we are today.
